1. Commitment to Ethical Publishing
Insights Academic Publishing (IAP) adheres to internationally recognized standards of ethical scholarly publishing. The journal published by IAP follow the principles and best-practice recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). IAP ensures transparency, integrity, and responsible editorial conduct at every stage of the publication process.
2. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made solely by the editorial teams of each journal and are not influenced by the publisher, financial considerations, or external parties. Editors maintain full independence in assessing submissions based on originality, scientific rigor, and relevance.
3. Publisher Responsibilities
As the parent organization, IAP is responsible for maintaining transparent editorial policies, supporting ethical editorial workflows, ensuring access to published content, and providing a secure, reliable platform for authors, reviewers, and readers. IAP does not interfere with editorial decision-making and is committed to upholding COPE-compliant practices.
4. Open Access Policy
IAP is an open access publisher. The journal published by IAP make published content freely accessible online without subscription barriers. Articles are typically distributed under a Creative Commons license (usually CC BY 4.0), enabling unrestricted use with proper attribution. IAP supports global, equitable access to scientific knowledge.
5. Copyright & Licensing
IAP follows a copyright-retention model. Authors retain copyright to their work, while granting permission for publication under a Creative Commons license. The journal published by IAP clearly specify the license terms on each article page to ensure transparency and reuse rights.
6. Ethical Standards for Authors, Reviewers, and Editors
IAP ensures that all the journal published by IAP implement ethical duties for authors, reviewers, and editors in accordance with COPE Core Practices. The journal must maintain clear guidelines on responsibilities related to authorship, review confidentiality, data integrity, and disclosure of conflicts.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, editors, and publisher staff must disclose any financial, professional, or personal conflicts that could influence the submission, review, or editorial decision-making processes. Undisclosed conflicts may result in corrections, editorial notices, or retraction.
8. Misconduct Handling & Investigation
IAP ensures that the journal published by IAP follow COPE-recommended mechanisms for investigating publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, unethical research, duplicate publication, and authorship disputes. Appropriate actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions.
9. Post-Publication Corrections & Retractions
To preserve the integrity of the scholarly record, the journal published by IAP follow COPE guidelines for issuing corrections, corrigenda, expressions of concern, and retractions. These notices remain publicly accessible and are linked to the original article through its DOI.
10. Complaints & Appeals
IAP provides a fair and transparent mechanism for handling complaints and appeals. Complaints regarding editorial processes or ethical concerns may be submitted to the publisher or journal editorial office. Appeals to editorial decisions must include justification and will be reviewed independently in accordance with COPE practices.
11. Revenue Transparency
IAP is a small, independent publisher. Revenue sources include Article Processing Charges (APCs) where applicable and internal institutional support. Editorial decisions are never influenced by financial considerations or submission fees.
12. Archiving & Digital Preservation
IAP ensures long-term accessibility of published articles through established preservation systems, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and LOCKSS. Published works remain accessible even if a journal discontinues.
13. Use of AI Tools
Authors must disclose any use of artificial intelligence tools in writing, data analysis, or content generation. AI tools cannot be credited as authors. Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI may be treated as ethical misconduct.
14. Preprint Policy
IAP supports responsible dissemination of early research through preprints. Manuscripts posted on preprint servers may be submitted to IAP journals, provided that authors clearly disclose the preprint version at the time of submission.
15. Animal Ethics and Welfare Principles
For journals publishing research involving animals, IAP requires compliance with internationally recognized welfare standards such as ARRIVE and institutional ethics committee approvals. Articles must include an ethical approval statement.
16. Transparency & Access to Policies
All publisher and journal policies are openly accessible on the IAP website. IAP is committed to maintaining strong transparency practices in line with DOAJ and COPE guidelines.
